Beginning July 1, qualifying students will be able to apply Pell Grants toward short-term workforce programs designed to prepare them for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand careers.
For decades, Pell Grants have been limited to longer academic programs, leaving many short-term, career-focused training opportunities out of reach for students who could not afford them. Under the new rule, students will be able to use Pell Grants for approved programs lasting from eight to 15 weeks
